Strengthening Household Ability to Respond to Development Opportunities (SHOUHARDO) III is a Resilience Food Security Activity (RFSA) funded by the United States Government through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA), with complementary funding from the Government of Bangladesh (GoB). CARE Bangladesh is implementing the project at eight districts of the Char and Haor regions with six Partner Non-Government Organizations; SKS, MJSKS, DAM, ESDO, NDP, and POPI.
SHOUHARDO III is a five-year program which aims to achieve improved gender equitable food and nutrition security and resilience for 170,298 Poor and Extreme Poor (PEP) households living in the eight districts of Northern Char and Haor wetland areas of Bangladesh. SHOUHARDO got a program cost extension until September 2022. During this extension phase, the project will be focusing on building systems to ensure sustained impact for the participant communities beyond the program period.
